Naan Yen Pirandhen (Eng: Why Was I Born?) is a 1972 Indian Tamil language film directed by M. Krishnan, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role, with K. R. Vijaya, Kanchana, M. N. Nambiar, Nagesh and Major Sundarrajan. It is a remake of the Telugu film Bratuku Teruvu. Actor Kamal Haasan worked under K.Thangappan as his dance assistant in this movie. It was the only film to feature MGR in a family-oriented role.
