Kanavan (Eng: The Husband), is a 1968 Indian Tamil film, directed by P. Neelakantan, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role and Jayalalithaa, with C. R. Vijayakumari, S. A. Asokan, Cho among others.
The film was dubbed into Hindi as Aakhri Nishan. The “Puratchi Nadhigar” MGR which is the author of the story of Kanavan, was inspired by two narratives – the Russian novel Woodcutter and the English play The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare.
